Ingredients
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups (315g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups (260g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Cream Butter and Sugars:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add Wet Ingredients:
Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing.

Add Chocolate Chips:
Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
Shape Cookies:
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake:
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked (they’ll set as they cool).

Cool:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
